Birte Rau

Coordinator for Africa

Inclusive Business is about business models that positively impact low-income community members. I am excited to support entrepreneurs in growing and scaling their inclusive business companies to create sustainable impact.

Birte is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of iBAN’s activities in Africa. Further, she supports the process for inclusive business companies to scale by strengthening their connections to impact investors and gaining access to finance.

Before joining iBAN, Birte worked as a communications officer for a joint Rwandan-German Development Cooperation Programme implemented by GIZ with a focus on the promotion of economy and employment in Kigali, Rwanda. During her time at the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she gained experience in local and regional business promotion and development.

Birte holds a master’s degree in Development Economics and International Studies from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
