Canada’s business policies are becoming more and more socially-oriented, many of them focused on social enterprises. In 2015, a social finance accelerator initiative has been implemented to ease the access to social finance. The term “inclusive business” is recognized by some in the government and is commonly grouped into the overarching social economy agenda. The Ministry of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) funds several projects to support growth and sustainability of social enterprises in Canada.
