The Information Communication Technology (ICT) revolution has indelibly changed how services are organised, planned and delivered world-wide. The social sector in India, particularly municipal services, water, sanitation, health, education etc are yet to make effective use of information communication technology to further service delivery.

The use of ICT in social sector can revolutionise the mechanisms and outcomes of service delivery, especially in better deployment of resources for information retrieval, decision making, ongoing management and outreach. It is now widely recognized that innovations in social sector can achieve scale through better deployment of ICT and emerging technologies. All evidence points to the obvious benefits of the use of ICT; therefore, it is crucial to ensure that the potential gains from ICT do not bypass social sector in the provision of quality services and responsive governance.

The summit aims to provide a platform for social investors, mentors and entrepreneurs to interact, showcase their business models, learn and explore opportunities of working together. The summit also has its focus on highlighting potential opportunities for social entrepreneurs to collaborate with various programs of Government of India and investors for achieve scale. UNDP India, Ashoka India and Unitus Capital are key knowledge partners for this Summit. This two day summit will bring together over 50 delegates comprising representatives of Government, incubators, social entrepreneurs and investor community. The focus of the summit is on themes covering - Water, Sanitation, Health, Education, skilling and livelihoods etc. The Summit will immensely benefit entrepreneurs in IT segment as it will provide insight and ideas for business in social sector.
