UnLtd India and GSEN present The Huddle 2015: From Local Pioneers to a Global Movement

UnLtd India, a leading support organization for early stage social entrepreneurs in India, is teaming up with the Global Social Entrepreneurship Network (GSEN) to unite local, national, and international changemakers in a landmark event in Mumbai: The Huddle, on 15th-16th October, 2015. The event is a platform for 200 social entrepreneurs, experts, and investors to build connections, showcase ideas and share best practices. The theme of this year’s event is, “From Local Pioneers to a Global Movement”, and it will focus on bringing together key influencers from around the world to explore the most pressing issues facing social entrepreneurs at the earliest stage of their entrepreneurial journey.

The Huddle, which took place for the first time in 2014 as an annual event for the UnLtd India Network, promises to be even bigger this year with prominent keynote speakers, exciting roundtable discussions and various forums showcasing inspiring social entrepreneurs.

 

The first day of The Huddle will be held at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai on the 15th October 2015. The day-long event will open with a special video message of support from Professor Muhammad Yunus and will include roundtable discussions focused on global and local social entrepreneurship ecosystems, covering topics such as emerging trends in the sectors of Education, Livelihoods and Women, as well as, the role of Financial Institutions, Academic Insitutions and Private Sector Organizations in the social innovation ecosystem at large. The roundtables will be facilitated by some of the most prominent actors in the social entrepreneurship space including Cliff Prior of UnLtd UK and Priya Naik of Samhita. The audience will also have a chance to hear the incredible stories of some of UnLtd India’s most inspiring social entrepreneur Fellows. The day will close with a plenary talk by Vijay Mahajan, founder of BASIX Social Enterprise Group, followed by a Social Entrepreneurs Exhibit and Networking.

The 16th of October is an invitation-only event for members of the UnLtd India Network and selected members of the social impact sector, and will also be held at the World Trade Centre. Safeena Hussain, of Educate Girls, will deliver the keynote address and senior entrepreneurs like Anish Thakkar of Greenlight Planet and Vishal Talreja of Dream A Dream will share their start up journeys as part of the day’s Storytelling Circles. Following this, participants will have the opportunity to attend Masterclasses on important topics such as Attracting and Retaining Talent, Raising Capital, Sales and Marketing, Boards and Governance, and Impact Measurement. These Masterclasses will be conducted by successful entrepreneurs and sector leaders, including Aarti Madhusudan of Governance Counts, Krishna Ramkumar of Avanti Fellows, and Anoj Viswanathan of Milaap. The day will end with a keynote talk by Anshu Gupta of Goonj, and will be followed by a gala dinner and a closing celebration.
