This case study explores Peru-based venture Villa Andina, which works with local smallholder farmers to produce premium agro-industrial food products for export and sale in large domestic cities. It reviews how the introduction of guaranteed market connections, training and provision of income stability to farmers growing goldenberries has impacted children aged eight and under and pregnant women.
