The case study introduces the business model of the 2012 founded South African enterprise Waste to Food (W2F) that has developed a combination of technologies to overcome the widespread disposal of organic waste to landfills in South Africa. The business aims at reducing CO2 emissions and pollution from food waste while addressing food insecurity and unemployment in Cape Town. The case study analyses the economic, social and environmental impact of W2F.
