Description

This paper examines the nature and forms of impact investing in African economies and proposes an agenda for engaged research. The study focuses on two research questions: (1) In what ways are Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and philanthropic foundations partnering with mainstream private investments to orchestrate inclusive business development in African countries? (2) What are the comparative strategies pursued by impact funds in promoting market-based enterprise development?
