Description

This report illustrates how the value chain approach in tourism helps to explain why the poor receive a bigger share of tourism in some destinations than in others. It discusses poverty reduction strategies and argues that they require a shift in focus from isolated project, to market-based approaches and it suggests that conducting a value chain analysis will help to diagnose pro-poor impacts in supply chains and identify the best interventions.
