This report presents cases on how ICT can be used by social entrepreneurs to increase the social impact of their work, while also recognising challenges as well as potential of technologies for development. It focuses on ‘Social Innovation Mapping’ and identifies a few common patterns in the countries. It is based on analysing the work of leading socialentrepreneurs and highlights nine common patterns observed in 16 countries around the world. Two types of patterns are featured: the Barriers that social entrepreneurs choose to focus on, and the Design Principles they use to overcome these barriers.
