This case study evaluates the results, impacts and lessons learned from a project which aimed to improve the competitiveness of the cultivation of organic cocoa by small producers from the National Confederation of Dominican Cocoa Producers, Inc. (CONACADO), a producer and exporter of fermented organic cocoa. It discusses how the MIF-facilitated access to medium-term financing and technical assistance for the renovation and rehabilitation of plantations, and strengthened the institutional capacity of CONACADO and its affiliates.
