This report reviews the potential for business to contribute to public health systems in developing countries - it outlines the challenges facing public health systems and why good health systems matter to business. It discusses the role of the private sector across three areas: core business activities, philanthropy and social investment, and public policy dialogue, advocacy and institution building and it provides successful case examples and initiatives.

This publication is a collection of several articles which illustrate how to enhance the quality of life of the poor, how to enable all members of society to become productive economic agents, and how to include them in a more democratic society. It presents an overview of the current situation of poverty and inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean, and discusses ways in which the market can help reduce them. It also provides recommendations and measures for both policy makers and actors of the private sector on how to integrate the poor as consumers, producer and supplier into the market and on how to overcome the challenges mentioned.

This presentation points out the inequality in many Brazilian states and gives an overview of measures and programmes of the Brazilian Federal Government. Further it gives a brief insight into different public private partnership projects.
