This report examines innovation theory and explores how innovation can be utilised to develop new approaches to the practice of philanthropy. It provides and describes a conceptual framework for innovation which includes five main stages: setting the conditions, identifying the problem or opportunity, generating ideas to solve the problem or capture the opportunity, experimenting and piloting ideas, and sharing the innovations with a broader set of stakeholders.
