Creating Value for All: Community-Based Tourism
This case study focuses on Community-based tourism (CBT) in Kyrgyzstan . Community-based ecotourism services offer tourists unique experiences, generate incomes for rural families and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the country. In Kyrgyztan, there are two main actors involved in the CBT business model: Tour operators and the Kyrgyz Community- Based Tourism Association (KCBTA), a non-profit membership organisation. The report describes the context and the business model, the actors, challenges and solution strategies, and the results.
