New partnership between the Facility and Innovations Against Poverty

21. Apr 2011

The Business Innovation Facility welcomes the establishment of a new programme that also support inclusive business. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, is establishing and funding Innovations Against Poverty (IAP) - a three year programme that will support inclusive business development in developing countries.

IAP is potentially important for the companies in our network, as it can offer financial support (which the Facility does not) and can support companies in a wide range of developing countries. If you are interested to find out more, watch out for the launch of IAP on April 28th which will mark the opening of their first application round (and will be reported on this Hub, or go to the Sida website at www.sida.se/iap)

IAP is particularly important for this Practitioner Hub, as the Business Innovation Facility and IAP have just established a partnership, to jointly support and develop our Practitioner Hub.

The Facility and Innovations Against Poverty have similar objectives for signposting partners to inclusive business information and sharing lessons that emerge from their work supporting inclusive business. We are also aware of the requests from companies to avoid duplication and multiple sources of information, and the desire of our donors (DFID and Sida) to strengthen donor collaboration on private sector development. Hence we believe that objectives can be most efficiently achieved by pooling resources to further develop the one online site.

While IAP has its own web-pages with information for applicants, members of the Practitioner Hub will soon be seeing insights from IAP projects on the Hub, as well as from projects supported by the Facility.
