Earlier this year, The RegCharles Foundation embarked on a journey to empower 400 women in 4 local communities in Lagos, Nigeria, as part of our social impact investing focus on female empowerment through entrepreneurship.

It has been a very remarkable journey so far, and we will like to share the experience as we celebrate 2014's International Women's Day.

In Badagry, a small sleepy town on the border between Nigeria and Benin Republic, we have selected 100 indigent women to receive vocational and entrepreneurial training. In addition, we will provide access to finance for them to start or boost their business ventures.

In partnership with 'Heart Of The Matter', an inspiring TV program on Silverbird Television, we take viewers to Badagry to meet these 100 local women in the video.

They share their expectations of how this investment will add value to their lives, families and future.

We are currently seeking implementing and funding partners to take this journey to the next level, especially regarding providing seed funding of N50,000 for each of the badagry women to be supported, and the next batch of women in Ibeju Lekki (a small town on Lagos Island), Ikorodu-Igbogbo and Oto Awori (a small island village that shares boundary with Badagry, at ologe lagoon).
