This landscape study examines the impact investing industry across East Africa with particular detail on five countries—Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda. It captures activity that may be relevant for impact investors, such as investments at the base of the economic pyramid that may lack an explicit intention for positive impact, and it highlights the role of key industry actors such as government bodies, investment advisors, incubators, and accelerators.
