This paper examines how instruments for promoting inclusive business models can be integrated into private sector development (PSD) programmes in German technical cooperation. It outlines how inclusive business (IB) models can help to overcome the limited access of the poor to goods and services, barriers and strategies to overcome the barriers faced by the poor, as well as ways to scale up the approaches. The report contains a review of existing instruments to promote IB models and explores how PSD programmes promote IB models.
