This case study showcases SEED 2013 award winner Provokame, an enterprise which produces 100% biodegradable plates, made from natural fibres and recycled paper, which are also implanted with seeds. It also trains and employs local women living in rural areas in the plate production process. The study outlines the local development challenges and the highlighted solution; the development impact and reach; and the success factors and challenges in building the inclusive eco-enterprise.
