This report details Shell Foundation's ten year journey in applying business thinking, models and disciplines. It recounts the co-creation of four strategic partnership that are tackling development issues in the following areas: sustainable transport; growing small enterprises in Africa; reducing indoor air pollution; and promoting ethical trade. It elaborates on lessons learned in angel philanthropy, building cross-sector partnerships, moving from subsidy to earned income, and suggests why scale is not enough.
