This report provides a landscape for impact investment women’s health focused in Colombia and Peru in order to catalyze impact investment interest and capital to the most-needed areas of women’s health in Latin America. More specifically, it identifies gaps in service provision, areas of opportunity for investment, pipeline opportunities, and examples of women’s health programs that are focused on impact and sustainability.

With the support of the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, this report seeks to do this by examining the legal framework that provides the foundation for progress and future growth, the key actors and their roles within the supply chain, and the best opportunities to invest in the growth and formalization of enterprises operating in the recycled waste sector in Peru. The conclusion of this report identifies significant opportunity to transform the waste management sector in Peru by engaging key actors who are well-positioned to strengthen the recycling and waste management sector as a whole while expanding new market and microenterprise opportunities. 

This case study gives advice to impact investors and investees on new and emerging methods to strengthen their impact measurement practices. The case tracks the WDI team as it pilot-tested a new impact measurement framework with three social enterprises in Nicaragua, Brazil and Peru. The case also provides recommendations to improve the impact measurement practices of investors, as well as the enterprises they support.

Insurance supervisors in emerging markets have developed different approaches to foster markets for inclusive insurance. Several markets have undergone transformative changes as a result, but what has been the impact of these measures? The Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii) and the Facility have commissioned this study to assess the impact of microinsurance regulatory frameworks on developing inclusive insurance markets by way of a Regulatory Impact Assessment. 

This Diagnostic Study shows that Peru has a powerful opportunity to drive financial inclusion and continue modernizing its economy through further reforms to support digitization of payments. Despite this, Peru still has a large shadow economy, and remaining disparities of economic opportunity across the country. The Diagnostic Study maps out the key barriers to a more inclusive digital ecosystem in Peru, and makes specific recommendations at the national and sub-national level so Peru can harness the power of digital payments to build on its recent economic achievements.

El informe aporta información sobre el tamaño del mercado de la BDP, sus características socioeconómicas, la segmentación, los patrones de gasto y factores relacionados con la demanda; así como de los modelos de negocio, los canales de distribución y los insumos que han permitido que las empresas sirvan de manera exitosa a este segmento de la población en Perú.

Esta investigación presenta casos en Guatemala, Bolivia, Perú, y Sudáfrica en los que se construyeron alianzas que desarrollaron formar innovadoras en la prestación de servicios básicos a las personas de la base de la pirámide.
